Licence Agreement (EULA)
This is a legal agreement between you and ACRONA AUDIO for the HOUZY audio plugin, including its updates and documentation (the "Software"). By installing or using HOUZY you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not install it. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
Editions
- Free edition: HOUZY 4.x, distributed free of charge.
- Paid edition: HOUZY 5 and later, used under a purchased licence or a time-limited trial.
Sections marked "free" or "paid" apply only to that edition. Everything else applies to both.
What you may do (free)
- use the plugin with no time limit and no payment;
- use it to write, mix and master your own music, including music you sell or release on a label;
- install it on any number of your own computers;
- pass the original installer on to other people, unchanged and free of charge.
What you may do (paid)
- use the Software on the number of computers stated at purchase, at the same time; you may move an activation by releasing it in the plugin;
- use it for personal and commercial music production, including client work, releases, film, games and broadcast;
- during a trial: evaluate the full Software for 14 days, once per computer.
The licence is personal and non-exclusive. It may be transferred to another person only where the store offers a licence transfer, or where the law of your country allows the resale of software licences, and only if you stop using it yourself.
Your music is yours
Audio you process with HOUZY belongs entirely to you. No royalties, no credit and no notice are required.
What you may not do
- sell, rent or lend the Software, or include it in paid bundles, packs, courses or any other product sold for money;
- share licence keys or licence files, or get around activation, the trial or any other protection;
- present HOUZY or any part of it as your own development;
- modify, rename or restyle the plugin, or distribute the result;
- disassemble, decompile or reverse engineer it in order to reproduce it in your own product, except where the law expressly allows this and cannot be excluded by contract;
- copy its code, or reproduce its internal audio-processing design in another plugin.
On methods specifically: HOUZY is built on original work by ACRONA AUDIO. You may not take the audio-processing methods used in it, their design or the way they are implemented, and use them to build other products, whether from the code directly or by analysing how the plugin behaves.
Online features
- Update check: up to every 8 hours the plugin reads one public file to see if a newer version exists. You can switch it off.
- Licence check (paid): activation and a periodic confirmation contact our licence server, which checks the key with Gumroad. Network or server failures never switch off a valid purchased licence; once activated, it works without internet. A trial needs to be online at least every 72 hours.
- Your audio is never sent anywhere. Details: Privacy Policy.
Ownership
All rights to HOUZY belong to ACRONA AUDIO: its code, its name, its design, and the audio-processing methods and algorithms developed for it. The Software is licensed, not sold. Being free of charge does not mean any rights are given up: the author retains them in full.
Third-party components
HOUZY is built with the JUCE framework and includes the Moonbase licensing module (MIT licence). Their licence terms apply to those components and are available on request.
Warranty
Free edition: provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law permits.
Paid edition: the Software should work substantially as described on the product page. If it does not, you have the remedies described in the Terms of Sale and under the law of your country.
Liability
To the extent the law permits, ACRONA AUDIO is not liable for indirect or consequential damage arising from use of the Software, including lost projects, DAW crashes or damaged equipment. Total liability for a paid licence is limited to the amount paid for it. These limits do not apply to death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, intent or gross negligence, or where mandatory law does not allow them. Keep backups of your projects; that is sensible in any case.
Termination
Breaking these terms ends your right to use the Software, and you must then remove it. A paid licence also ends if it is refunded or the payment is reversed. Sections on ownership, restrictions and liability survive termination.
Governing law and contact
This agreement is governed by the same law as the Terms of Use & Sale, without removing the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country. Questions: acronaaudio@proton.me.
